Were fish in the Landgate Arch?

I trust it is a typo in the paper today, otherwise in an attempt to absolve RDC of any blame for the appalling state of affairs at the Landgate Arch our member on Rother District Council has now fingered fish for the problems!

“It continues to deteriorate as a result of the degradation from herring, gulls and pigeons and something needs to be done about the roof!” complains Lord Ampthill.

There have been high tides recently but the idea that shoals of herring have found their way into the Arch’s roof space is extraordinary!

Maybe an extraneous comma has floated into the sentence.

However, RDC is the owner and needs to do something about the roof.

After all, it finds a modest £500,000 each year to keep the De La Warr Pavillion open and will continue to do so well into the next decade!
