What a wonderful weekend for Battle

WHAT a wonderful weekend it was as Battle’s Big Event showcased the best of our beautiful and historic town.

It was great to see the High Street packed with people for the carnival parade, with many attending the summer fayre and music events on the rec’.

Let’s hope lots of money was raised for the Battle Bonfire Night celebrations in November!

And all of this on the back of fantastic news, following lobbying from local groups, that the Olympic Torch will now officially stop outside the Abbey on the Green for local residents to witness this unique moment in Battle’s history.

Let’s make sure we have a great Battle turnout to welcome the torch, early (7.45am) on the morning of Wednesday July 18 - put it in your diary and be there!
