What is really being planned?

Following my recently published letter ‘Secret Road’ concerning the local waste plan and the Bexhill to Hastings link road.

I have read proposals for the new housing and industrial estates planned for North East Bexhill.

Within the proposal consideration has been given for the new ‘town’ to be used as a flagship for government policies regarding their ideas for Eco-Towns. These towns are to be designed with a centralised plant for supplying heating and electricity.

The articles I read support the idea of building either an incinerator and/or an anaerobic digestion plant located within the planned industrial areas of the new estate, thus generating the methane gases and subsequently the heating for the housing and industrial estate. The fuel to allow the burning or composting of waste would,if ESCC agrees, be supplied from grass cuttings, coppicing or whatever from the whole of the East Sussex area and possibly other areas too.

If these plans/proposals go ahead it would underline my comments that the Country Avenue, joining the link road, would be used for the transportation of waste ,supplying the heat generators.

I still believe all these plans were hidden from the general public ,buried in local waste plans, inspector reports etc.

Perhaps the residents of Bexhill should ask their councillors what is really being planned and/or take at look at the RDC website for information on the Eco-Town development?
