What use is removing the benches from Hastings town centre?

Well done Hastings Council. What a great idea to remove seating from Wellington Place to deter drinkers and drug takers from this particular area. Quite just what do they think this will achieve?

These people will just move to other seating in the town centre – outsides Yates or Debenhams probably. Does this council intend to remove all seating from our centre?

They have already torn down the toilets under the pretence they could no longer afford to maintain them and we are now left with a disgusting boarded up area which, is of little use to anybody.

They have, however, managed to find a vast amount of money to build a supermarket and coffee shop in Bexhill Road, under the guise that it will be a good investment, what rubbish.

Just how much money was invested in the survey conducted for a solar farm which, I note has now been dropped like a hot potato.

We are also told there is no money to keep our bowling greens open in Alexandra Park and Grosvenor Gardens so like many other things in this town, they will just be left to rot.

What a forward thinking council: close toilets, close bowling greens, remove town centre seating, put up car parking charges, ask us all to shop local.

Oh, please!
