Where will they park as street isn't available

MAY I ask if planning inspector Doug Cramond visited Littlehampton prior to his report on the site where Martlet Homes Ltd wishes to build shops and homes (Gazette, April 8), as it does not sound like the town that I live in?

Most of this site is behind existing buildings (unless demolition is going to take place), street parking is virtually non-existent, the only nearby car parks are pay-and-display for the benefit of shoppers, and stricter control of street parking is about to be introduced by the council.

The density of parking in the area west of Surrey Street will, in the near future, be intolerable, should most of the new residents decide they need a car.
