Why are Eastbourne holidaymakers referred to Lewes and Seaford?

Following the letter from A Richards (Herald letters, July 31 click here to read) it is difficult to understand why the Tourist Information Centre is not only closed until further notice but holidaymakers are referred to the office at Lewes or Seaford.

What little gem thought this one up? Eastbourne has probably more tourists than Lewes and Seaford put together. Whose side is the council on?
