Why cordon off road parking in Hastings Old Town?

Parking spaces all along Hastings Old Town seafront have been cordoned off, apparently to facilitate social distancing. And how many people have you seen walking in the gutter to avail themselves of this extra space? Me neither.

Just more pointless pain for the local economy inflicted by our virtue-signalling masters.
