Winchelsea’s poor train times

We appreciate everyone’s support for the local campaign for all-day Sunday trains to meet the economic and social needs of communities living around and depending on Winchelsea and Three Oaks stations. On Saturdays they each have 19 trains; on Sundays just three, and none of them during the day-time!

The widely-supported gathering at Winchelsea on 7th December was the day before the national rail timetables changed, but still brought no change in Sunday services to support our ‘small is beautiful’ Brede Valley area and the many people who live, work and visit there.

We shall be collaborating with all the other local groups in that 50-strong gathering to press the case for a 21st century Sunday train service. Our colleagues from Kent will hold their regular quarterly meeting jointly with us on Saturday 15th February in Rye, and visitors will be welcome.
