Wisborough Green set for bank holiday event

The organisers of the ever popular Wisborough Green August Bank Holiday Fete and Horticultural Show are hoping for another bumper year. Both the Fete Society and Horticultural Society are working hard putting the final touches to this year’s event.

Last year the picturesque location and glorious weather drew record crowds, and enabled the Fete Society to support a number of local organisations.

Sam Cookman, Chair of the Wisborough Green Fete Committee said: “As a result of last year’s generous support we have been able to support a local children’s charity ‘The Magic Carpet Appeal’, as well as the Sussex Air Ambulance Service and a number of smaller local charities and groups.”

This year’s event will have all the family’s favourites including a huge range of traditional fete stalls, the beautiful vintage children’s swing boats, the hugely popular fun dog show with rosettes and prizes to be won, the wonderful horticultural & craft marquee and traditional races for the young (and not so young!). This year there are also some new attractions - why not come along and test your strength on the ‘High Striker’.

The fun starts at 1pm on the village green, with the dog show judging and children’s races beginning at 2pm.
