Worthing cycle lane ‘the most ridiculous’ of schemes

In my many years on this Earth I have seen some idiotic schemes and plans, but surely the Grove Lodge to town centre cycle lane ranks amongst the most ridiculous.

One of the first items on the agenda should have been a survey to see if the number of cyclists using this route warrants it. Then a check on how it would affect the town centre shops, businesses and traffic flow. Surely these results would have stopped the idea dead in it’s tracks?

People are already saying they would rather go to Shoreham, Horsham or Littlehampton to shop. Goodness knows what the emergency vehicle drivers think, they have a hard enough job with the traffic already without imposing this idiocy on them.
