Worthing resident appeals for improvements on roads

I recently took my vehicle for its annual MOT. It passed but with advisories, regarding the damaged tyres (not surprising due to the state of our local roads). Writes Martyn Booker of Orchard Avenue, Worthing.

With a mind to the safety of both my wife and myself. I called into my usual tyre dealer, Discount Tyre Service in Winton Place, for their advice.

They pointed out the defects in great detail and advised replacement of all four tyres. The tyres were the originals however the matching replacements were so very expensive. But then what price safety?

A solution was offered by way of very good tyres but much cheaper so the new cheaper tyres were fitted and I drove the short distance home.

Next morning I got into my vehicle. Oops! The dashboard panel said one tyre was under-inflated. I returned to DTS they showed me my brand-new tyre with a screw stuck in it, and what’s more it could not be repaired . They must have took pity on an old man and replaced the tyre for free. You don’t tend to get service like that any more.

Please could we have our streets swept and repaired properly? Is that too much to ask of our council?
