Two pupils from Millais, Forest and Tanbridge House School’s competed in the competition that is now in its sixth year in Horsham.

The heat was definitely on as the participants worked tirelessly to produce a two-course meal for two people within a budget of £10.00 in just one and a half hours. As if the pressure of competing against each other was not enough the contestants were being closely watched and judged by two outstanding local professionals.

In the end it was a double success for the Forest School with Lewis Wilson taking first place with his followed closely by Harry Powling as runner-up.

Gordon McConnell from the Rotary Club of Horsham said: “This is the sixth year that we have run the Young Chef competition in Horsham and the standard has improved every year even though this is the first round in a national competition. The Judges were extremely impressed by the high standards achieved by all the competitors who should be congratulated on their achievements.

“I would also like to thank Tanbridge House School for hosting the event.
