THE NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN: Everyone in Malling should have received voting cards for their Neighbourhood Plan. You can get an introduction to the plan using www.lewes-eastbourne.gov.uk. (Other contact details are also available on the back of the voting card which you should have received through your letter boxes). The vote takes place on Thursday March 7. Councillor John Lamb urges everyone to vote: ‘The poll is a straight yes or no to accept or reject the plan’. ‘Please vote yes,’ he asks, ‘there are good things in it, such as the idea of Lewes Low Cost Housing, the price of which is based on what people in the town on average earnings can actually afford’. The Greens, in their recent circular also ask people to vote: ‘The plan gives us more say in how Lewes is developed. They also warn: but it won’t be adopted unless a majority vote,Yes.

TRINITY CHURCH SOUTH MALLING: (Parish Church). This Sunday, the service will be Informal Communion led by Revd Jeremy Bamber, the Associate Vicar, with a talk by Revd Peter Markby. He will be continuing the teaching based on St Paul’s letter to the Collossians, which began last week. During the service shildren have their own activities after a brief introduction and return to join their parents for communion at the end of the service. All are welcome. The service begins at 9.30am. This Sunday is also the Sunday before Lent, and during the following week, will be followed by Shrove Tuesday (Pancake Day) and Ash Wednesday. It is also the time when many people make some sort of sacrifice to mark the solemnity of the Lenten season. Why not review your New Year’s resolution, or find something challenging to read?
