NEW LIFE: Come September we will be Great Grandparents and already I am talking to ‘The Bump’ explaining that we are not responsible for the state of the world the poor child will be born into. I dread to think what sort of a life the child will have but at least he or she will have great parents.

ST MARY’S SUPPORTERS CLUB: Bingo tonight, Friday, with cash prizes and raffle. Eyes down at 8.30pm. Everyone welcome. The ultimate tribute to Elton John by Sam Hughes tomorrow, Saturday, starting at 8.30pm. Non members £2 entrance fee. CHRIST CHURCH: Tots have a session for pre-school children and their carers on today, Friday, from 9.30am to 11.30am, only £1 per family. On Sunday at 9.30am we have a Messy Sunday service with a breakfast of cereals, bacon butties, tea and coffee, followed by craft activities and a short celebration service. It finishes around 10.30am. There are two Lent study groups under way in the local area, one evening and one day time. At Christ Church we have an ecumenical study group on five Thursday evenings from 7.30pm to 9pm up to and including April 11, based on St Mark’s Gospel. At St Anne’s Church there will be a study course on Tuesday mornings beginning at 10.30am with Holy Communion and discussion groups, followed by a simple soup lunch. All are welcome.

ST ANNE’S CHURCH: The first Lunchtime Concert will be on Thursday at 1.10pm when a piano trio will be playing, refreshments will be available before and after the performance. Admission free with retiring collection. The walking stick has been reunited with it’s owner.

ST MARY’S GARDENING CLUB: Our Spring Show is taking place on Saturday April 6 and we are looking forward to a splendid display of spring flowers, cookery, crafts and flower arrangements not to mention entries by the Rainbows and the Cottage Pre-School. There will be a raffle, tombola, cake, plant and bookstall. This is taking place at the St Mary’s Social Centre, Main Hall from 2pm to 4.30pm and everyone is welcome. Entry is 50p for adults and free for children. I nearly forgot to mention that you can enjoy a refreshing cup of tea and delicious home made cake, the best bargain in Lewes.
