New care home's school donation

A care home in Horsham has celebrated the opening of its new care home with a donation to a local school.

Skylark House, the new three-storey care home on St Marks Lane, opened last week, and to commemorate this milestone has donated £250 of art supplies to Holbrook Primary School, located across the road.

The facility will provide full time residential care, specialist dementia care and short term respite care for older people in Horsham and beyond, and features 82 ensuite bedrooms, its own cinema, hairdressing salon and café.

Home manager, Devendra Lallchand, said: “What better way to mark the opening of Skylark House than by showing our support for a neighbour. We have worked closely with Holbrook Primary School to create a lovely collage for our marketing suite, made up of drawing of people they care about. We are delighted to be able to give something back to the school and I’m sure the new residents will look forward to seeing some of the art created by the children.”

Holbrook Primary School head teacher, Ian Holmes said: “We are delighted to accept the generous donation from the Care UK team at Skylark House. Art is an important subject at Holbrook Primary school and this contribution will benefit both children and staff”

Chloe Kerr, art subject leader teacher, added: “We really appreciate this kind donation. We will use the money to buy resources to help the children to continue to develop their creative talents.”

Skylark House will provide a range of care services, from residential, nursing and specialist dementia care, to short term respite and sensitive palliative end of life care.
