Pavements in mess most weekends

AFTER a brief visit into Worthing town centre on Saturday, I was glad to leave.

Not only did we have to walk through hundreds of cigarette ends in Chapel Road, which live mainly outside the pubs, we were also subjected to walking through little puddles of blood, and this is not the first time I have seen blood on the pavements in Chapel Road.

I have also seen a "pavement pizza" which was not cleared up the whole day, and disappeared the next day only when it rained!

I think it is absolutely disgusting and puts the local council to shame.

Surely they should have been out there first thing cleaning up our streets so no one has to walk through blood?

If not, they should be responsible for ensuring the pubs and clubs clean up after themselves.

Worthing looks a mess after a Thursday and Friday night out on the town.

I have been to many different countries abroad where the streets are cleaned regularly with no rubbish, blood or dog mess, so why can't Worthing do the same?

Come on, Worthing, if you want to attract more tourists, you will have to sort it out.

Not only do visitors coming from the train station have to walk through the disappointment that is Teville Gate, they now have to manoeuvre themselves through dog ends, blood and the occasional "pavement pizza".
