People matter not paperwork

The closure of St Paul's nursing home came as a great shock. I was pleased to read Linda Astell's letter.

My husband spent his few remaining weeks there in 2008 and I was very grateful to Linda and her staff for the care he received.

Nothing was too much trouble and I appreciated the lovely atmosphere I always found there. How right Linda is in what she says about the CQC reports.

We need common sense and compassion when dealing with people in all walks of life.

It really is not enough to tick boxes and think the job is done. Sadly bureaucracy has reached ridiculous proportions. People matter not paperwork.

It should be possible to strike a balance between what is needed and what is safe

I too thank all those lovely people who looked after my husband so well. I will never forget you.
