Pride launch was fantastic

Through your paper, I would like to send my appreciation to the organisers of the Hastings Pride on Sunday, August 28 held in Robertson Street. What a fantastic event and very well-attended.

Having moved down from Croydon three years ago with my partner of 39 years, it was so nice to meet the mayor and members of Hastings Borough Council.

Hopefully, in time, the event will transfer to Alexandra Park and be a permanent fixture like the other Pride events all over the country, without charging £25 to enter like Brighton and London.

It gave me a chance to wear my 1991 Pride t-shirt – still in good condition and it still fits.

Hastings is a unique town with so much going on. I am sure it will become a tourist attraction for the town.
