Rotary Youth Speaks is a competition designed to support and encourage the development of effective communication skills in young people:

The competition is open to all schools and college communities including those that are home educated and any other young people’s community organisations.

Each team will have three students in full-time education in two age groups: intermediate (11 to 13 years) and senior (14 to 17 years).

Each team member takes on one of three roles: chairperson, speaker and vote of thanks

There will be an allocated a time in which to perform their role.

The local round will be held on Monday, November 21, at Lancing Prep, Broadwater Road, and the winners will go forward to the district round followed by an area round and a national final.

A cup will be presented to the winning teams and prizes given to all the winning team members.

Christmas is also very much on our minds as we prepare to open our Christmas tree collections in the town centre on Thursday, December 1, at 10.30am.
