January is not too soon to look forward to the summer, and summer for the Rotary clubs in the town means the Worthing Carnival.

The three Rotary clubs will be getting together soon to plan this year’s carnival.

Following two very successful years, helped in many ways by the excellent weather, we are looking to improve the carnival and the procession along the seafront which takes place on August Bank Holiday Monday.

This year’s theme is The Sea, very appropriate to Worthing, the seaside and its seaside history.

Perhaps you have some ideas for the carnival and procession, so why not get involved?

It would be great to hear from you.

Any group or organisation that would like to participate in the carnival procession please contact Al Frostick on either 07711 323930 or email: [email protected].

We can provide the vehicles if needed and the entrants can participate in one of the three categories for 2018: themed, dance or open.

The carnival site is at Steyne Gardens and will operate over the August Bank Holiday Sunday and Monday.

If you or your organisation would like a stall on the Steyne, please call 07788 638757 for more information.

Join in and be part of a Worthing celebration at the carnival – start planning now!

Something sooner is the Cup & Cake Fayre on Saturday, February 17, from 10am at Tabernacle Church Hall, North Street, Lancing (near the Co-Op).

Not quite Bake Off, it is your chance to show your baking skills and help us raise some money for local charities.

There will be craft stalls and a cake competition for youngster and adults, with a judging contest and prizes for the best bake and baker.

Bring your cup for a free tea.

For more information call 07788 638757.

There is lots of parking nearby – hope to see you there.
