Same rules apply?

I READ with interest the article on the front page of the Observer last week about the disabled driver and a lack of designated parking bays.

Surely if you are the holder of a blue badge, you can in theory park anywhere provided you don’t cause an obstruction or block a gateway or, in the case of Adrian Mills, park in an unloading bay.

Parking in an unloading bay is a no-no, as he of course realised.

Does Chichester have its own regulations regarding disabled parking?

I find it rather odd that Mr Mills was apparently unaware of the benefits of owning a blue badge which gives its owner the right to park sensibly – anywhere.

No mention was made of this in the report, and I would be interested to hear from any other disabled person as to their views on the matter.

Is my interpretation of the blue badge benefits correct – or have I got it all wrong?
