Support brave councillors

AS A concerned Worthing resident, and following on from the Assembly Hall planning meeting of Monday, March 15, regarding the West Durrington Development proposals, I wish to make the following comments:

1 Let us hope that any future meetings on this important subject are held at a more convenient time, to enable working residents to participate, should they so desire.

2 That the residents of Worthing be allowed a referendum on these proposals, should the development consortium go to appeal.

3 That the residents of Worthing be prepared to support all these brave councillors of ours, whatever their political persuasion.

4 The decision to refuse this development "went against officers' recommendations". I would like to see these "officers" named and shamed prior to their dismissal .

5 Finally, and perhaps worryingly, NO councillor during their perhaps overlong submissions gave as a reason for refusal the fact that public opinion is clearly against it.

It begs the question, who governs Worthing?
