I am writing to ask for your support by encouraging your readers to join me in Priory Meadow shopping centre for this year's World Encephalitis Day on February 22.

Having been affected in 2008 with this life-changing condition I have become aware through the Encephalitis Society how little is known about this syndrome and the lack of facilities for acquired brain injury, not just locally but nationally, and of the importance of raising awareness.

I am now trained as a regional representative for the Encephalitis Society and can offer assistance to those affected by encephalitis in the East Sussex and Kent areas.

This service is an initiative by the Encephalitis Society to bring support to local areas all over the country.

I will be at Priory Meadow sharing information from 10am to approximately 5/5.30pm and I have also invited Amber Rudd MP to help promote this day.
