Many of your readers will recognise this problem with the NHS in Hastings.

Many residents I speak to, mostly outside or inside surgeries, are complaining about the service that they are getting from our surgeries.

There appear to be a number of reasons for this, often to do with the lack of doctors, but the other reason is that many are suffering from an attitude of ‘what the hell’ within the surgeries.

Please let me say that there are those which are not so stricken. Those that are, are making life very difficult.

Can someone outside the area, who hasn’t an axe to grind, come in and sort through the administration of the surgeries to make sure the system at least works as it should? Doctors should not be left to sort it out.

The system of processing prescriptions has deteriorated to the extent that they are not being completed correctly and the waiting for important medication can be dangerous. Processing used to a maximum of three day’s rather than a week or more.

Some surgeries are scruffy and unkempt too. Not the kind of place to be sitting in feeling foul.
