On behalf of the Eastbourne Silver Band might I, through the medium of the Letters page, say a tremendous thank you to all those people that attended and supported the Annual Eastbourne Concert of Remembrance in Our Lady of Ransom Church on 4th November this year.

The support for these concerts increases every year and the number of people attending this year, the eighth consecutive year of its presentation, totalled over 500, filling the church almost to capacity.

Through their generosity not only has the band been able to support well-known national charities but have also been able to give a donation of £600 to the local Eastbourne Branch of the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and families Association (SSAFA).

May I also thank all those companies and establishments that so freely offered sponsorship to the band, thus allowing the concerts to continue. Brewers Decorators Centres, Harvey’s Brewery, Eastbourne Pier, Eastbourne College, DB Domestics, Ann’s Flowers and the Concentus Choir.

On behalf of all the people involved in presenting the event this year, and the final recipients of the donations, thank you!

Keith Marshall

Admin Secretary and Concert co-ordinator, Eastbourne Silver Band
