Time to actually do something...

AS a dog owner, I am writing to say that I totally agree with the comments about dog mess not being picked up.

Although I always pick up our dog's mess '“ at least once a week a new mess appears outside our house on Alverstone Road with more on the surrounding roads.

There are no normal bins anywhere near our road for the rubbish that local school pupils drop on the street, let alone dog bins for the responsible owners among us to use.

We walk our dog in Homefield park where there are bins for dog mess but still owners continue to leave their dog mess both on the grass and near the playground where children play.

We all know that there are fines for leaving mess but perhaps reminders or proof that it was being carried out would give the totally irresponsible owners the kick they clearly need.
