Traditional attractions

With the ascent of Butlin’s and the demise of the pier, I would like to remind residents that it is a great idea to think big and to meet the needs of local people, but from my experience of Great Yarmouth, people come here with traditional ideas of what their holiday should be like and Great Yarmouth delivers.

Having worked at the Pleasure Beach in Great Yarmouth in a static funfair, I know how popular this attraction is.

We have a roller skating rink and swimming pool on the front, as is our cinema and a large crazy golf course.

The three-mile-long beach front is served by a train that covers the whole distance of attractions and there are horse drawn carriages as we used to have in Bognor.

Opposite the promenade, Marine Parade has pubs, clubs, restaurants and amusement arcades.

Three of the hotels are owned by major coach operators and several of the food outlets are national chains.

Coach tours and day trippers are always here in the season and the town is always vibrant.

Bognor could do will all of these things, but because space is limited may I suggest that the pier is rebuilt and then perhaps Bognor could get a theatre that it deserves.
