Traffic solution is common sense

Regarding the bottle neck traffic jams in Rock-a-Nore Road – the solution is pretty obvious.
The traffic lights were not installed to assist the cars using this junction, but to allow safe passage for the thousands of pedestrians that we were told would be crossing this junction on their way to visit the Jerwood Gallery.

Hide AdInstead of the huge pavement area on the south side of Rock-a-Nore Road with nothing on it but a mine, a refuse bin and a couple of posts, reinstate the left hand lane that used to be in Rock-a-Nore Road before the so-called improvements were carried out. Then, when Bourne Road traffic is stopped and seafront traffic gets a green filter arrow to enter Rock-a-Nore, the left hand lane in Rock-a-Nore could exit with a green filter towards the town centre.
Allowing traffic to enter but not exit at the same time must cause a build up of traffic. If there were two lanes in Rock-a-Nore Road, the traffic could exit twice as quick.
It’s not rocket science but common sense.
