UKIP transforms boring face of politics in Britain forever

At last, a dream come true: a group speaking for many of us who want out of the European mess created by our political wafflers.

At last, a dream come true: a group speaking for many of us who want out of the European mess created by our political wafflers.

It is high time the mainstream parties were given a good kicking for thinking they know best and taking little or no notice of those who voted them in.

Having said that, generally speaking, our politicians are such a deadly-boring bunch that many people do not bother to vote at all. When questioned why they do not vote, the answer is invariably that they are all the same so it really does not matter whom you vote for - or whether you vote or not.

Well, good news for all you people, we now have another much more interesting option: UKIP. And they are set to change the boring face of British politics forever.

Guess what? The political wafflers in the other parties are now going to be listening to us apparently. Yes, that is right, us - the little people who they normally take little or no notice of in favour of toeing the party line. Would they still be offering that without UKIP waiting in the wings? No, of course, they would not. And nor would the Conservatives be talking about an in/out referendum in 2017 either.

Do you, however, trust the silver-tongued wordsmiths to stick to what they say if they are fortunate enough to win the next election. Because I know I do not.

Whether it be Labour or the Conservatives who win the next election, they will now need to listen to those who question the sanity of belonging to the very expensive Brussels club - a club where we are chucking in £55 million a day to be members. Plus, of course, the interest we are paying on this borrowed money we must find daily.

We are told we need to belong to the Brussels club or it will affect trade. What a load of old piffle that is, as Europe needs us far more than we need Europe. We buy a heck of a lot more from them than they do from us. So what are they going to do? Not sell to us? Of course not - and it is utterly ridiculous to suggest otherwise.

Why on earth would anyone in their right mind think it is a good idea to have 75% of our laws decided n Brussels? Our own House of Commons is little more than a debating chamber these days, with a lot of highly-paid wafflers sniping at each other on a daily basis.

It is an impossibility for 28 sovereign states, with more than 500 million people speaking 24 different languages, ever to see basic issues the same way, let alone anything complex. You only have to look at some of the complete numpties we have in the European Parliament to realise there is absolutely no chance of it ever working satisfactorily. So let us have a referendum now, please, and see whether we stay in or not. Let us not defer the pain until 2017.

Please can we also be honest in the build-up to a referendum. Perhaps that honesty can be provided by normal folk as well - not political wafflers who most of us would not trust to run a bath and who will be interested only in protecting their highly-paid jobs and huge egos.

It needs explaining carefully just how much the Brussels club is actually trying to manage, too. The current European GDP is in excess of 16.5 trillion dollars. Anyone who is in business will know that when lots of small to medium-size businesses are merged or taken over by a larger concern, they more often than not lose their way and service suffers, as staff feel disenfranchised with that personal touch being lost forever.

That is what the Brussels club is doing to us. And the sooner we are no longer a member, the better for everyone. Who knows we might even become Great Britain again!
