The government is looking to tweak the rules on PIP, so you’d need to score a four or higher in each activity to qualify. But here’s the thing—they seem to be missing the bigger picture. If someone is consistently scoring ones, twos, or threes across the board, it indicates they need support in their day-to-day life. Many people rely on this payment for essential services—such as accessing the community, hiring help with household tasks they can't manage, or covering in-home care costs.
From what I’m hearing, these cuts are set to hit millions hard, and I’m hoping there's a change of heart as this proposal makes its way through the Commons and the Lords. Maybe it won’t go through at all.

Hide AdOn V2 Radio’s social media and through my work email, listeners have shared sad stories about how they need PIP—no one sees anything good coming from this. It’s a harsh blow that could limit how many disabled people live their lives.

Honestly, these cuts are shocking. It’s not really what you’d expect from a Labour government—kind of like their decision to cut the winter fuel allowance, which also caught many off guard. With the general election still far off, some voters may feel they made the wrong decision. Considering how things are unfolding, it isn’t easy to see Labour securing another term. They’ve managed to ruffle feathers among both the elderly and the disabled—two very big groups of people who shouldn’t be overlooked. Now, it’s up to our MPs to step up and show they’re in the corner of those who need help.
If you are concerned about how changes to welfare will affect you, please email your MP now and share your opinion. This is particularly important, as they are the ones who will be voting on these changes.
