EASTER LILIES: It seems a bit early to be thinking about flowers for Easter, but there is method in my madness. Every year, we have a wonderful display of lilies at All Saints, in memory of loved ones we have lost. Each year, members of the congregation who wish, make a donation to our flower arranging team for the purchase of the lilies and give the name or names of those they would like to remember. Contact Jane Leney if you would like to take part in this informal act of remembrance, sending a cheque made out to All Saints’ Flower Fund to Jane at The Laurels, Cross in Hand, TN21 0QA with the name of the person or people you want to commemorate. I understand that lilies cost £2.50 per stem. During the Easter weekend (April 19 to 21) the list of those being remembered will be displayed in the Hospitality area at All Saints’.

SPRING FORWARD: During the night of Saturday March 30 we’ll be putting our clocks on an hour and then it will really feel like early summer. The trees are beginning to put on their bright green summer dresses and at last we are enjoying bright sunshine and some warmth making a welcome return after the cold winds of early March.

PUB QUIZ: There will be a Mad March Quiz in aid of the Hospices, at the pub on Monday, starting 7.30pm. Cost will be £15 per head, including a two-course supper, raffle and cash prizes. Teams will be of six people as usual and you’re advised to book in advance.
