We need the money

FORGIVE ME for not feeling very charitable towards those foreign countries receiving financial aid from our government, when at the same time funding for county councils has been severely cut.

The repercussion of this is that some councils no longer fund people with moderate special needs, or as in my son’s case, in West Sussex, is soon likely to be stopped.

Because of better health conditions and education, my son Andrew, who has Down’s Syndrome, is likely to fall into that category.

For him and his peers, this is so unfair and they are terribly worried about their future.

Surely we should be looking after our own vulnerable citizens before those in other countries?
