WOOD: So sad to burn the wood like that...
ALTHOUGH I am a huge advocate of biomass, I find it hard to accept that this is the most environmentally way of handling the driftwood.
In the past, if such an incident had happened, every home in the Worthing area would have had a new extension or shed built from the driftwood.
As the wood has been engineered, it should have been put to better use and in such a way to tie-up its CO2 manufacturing footprint over many years.
It is so sad to see thousands of tonnes of useful wood converted into woodfuel when it could have been used in environmentally friendly building projects.
