Ore Valley families have a great day out

The families from Ore Valley took part in activities ranging from birds-of-prey shows, trampolines, giant slides and rowing boats thanks to the discounted cost made possible by the Friends' fundraising.

Since 2005 the Friends-of-SureStart have raised more than 10,000 to support community activities and relieve individual hardships in the East Hastings area. Their fundraising has recently been boosted by a 6,200 grant from the Local Network Fund to host play days in the park for pre-school children in the borough.

The first of these events is happening today (Friday) when the Teddy Bears Picnic and Duck Pond Toddle Waddle are expecting more than 500 babes and toddlers to join in the fun while raising money for their local playgroup or nursery.
