Outbreak of dance fever

A DANCING craze has broken out among older residents in a sussex town.

A special tea dance club is going from strength to strength at St John's Church Hall, Polegate.

Up to 30 people go along each month and twirl away in a combination of sequence, line and ballroom dancing.

The club has even seen feisty dancers, aged 90, get up and have a go.

Grace Hurlock leads the class since her mother-in-law handed over the reins three years ago.

She said: 'When she asked me to do it I realised I knew some of the people anyway.

'It is run by Polegate for Polegate people, everyone knows everyone.

'They are all quite proud of the club.

'We have some tea and a slice of cake, and everyone has a good chat.'

The not-for-profit club runs from 2.30pm to 4.30pm on the first Friday of each month.
