'˜Outstanding' officer to take top council job in Crawley

Natalie Brahma-Pearl, currently director of community services at Horsham District Council, is set to be appointed chief executive at CBC.

She said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed working at Horsham over the last seven years and I am incredibly proud of what I have achieved for the council and the community.

“I have had the privilege of working with extremely talented, dedicated and passionate colleagues, members and partners. Even with challenging financial times we have delivered some great results for our community.

“My brief as director of community services has covered a range of services including, community, economic development, health, community safety, housing, leisure, culture, environmental health, waste and streetscene services, parking and customer services.

“I am confident that my Horsham colleagues will continue to realise the visions and ambitions for the district and embrace all the opportunities ahead.”

Tom Crowley, chief executive at HDC, said: “Natalie’s achievements over the last seven years have been outstanding. She has been at the helm of community services since 2010 and has overseen a number of successful public realm, community and leisure projects which have brought enormous benefit to the community and considerable savings to the council.

“We are all very sorry that she is leaving but delighted for her in achieving this well-deserved promotion.”

Ray Dawe, leader of HDC, added: “I am sure I speak for all members of the council, officers and partners when I say that we are sorry to see Natalie leave the council.

“She has done a fantastic job within the district and across the county on many important partnerships, and her work with public and private providers to develop solutions to community issues has been exemplary.”
