Pagham Yacht Club takes on thieves

Eager members of Pagham Yacht Club are the latest to protect themselves against criminals.

The club has become the third in the Bognor Regis area to join Marine Watch.

The initiative was launched at the West Front Road club by police community support officers Justina Baker and Tracy Ford.

It uses marine SmartWater to code boating equipment along with navigational equipment and hobby items such as water skis, catamarans, outboards and trailers.

SmartWater is painted on to any metal surface and gives it a forensic signature which can be tracked back to its true owner.

PCSO Nick Baker created Marine Watch last year and it has grown to include Bognor and Felpham yacht clubs as well.
