Pair in court over drug charges

Two men have appeared in court to deny possessing 39 grams of cocaine with intent to supply.

David Hughes, 34, of Petersfield Road, Midhurst, and Kevin Powell, 33, of Flatt Road, Nutbourne, appeared at Chichester Crown Court on Monday, November 23.

They both entered not guilty pleas to the charge of possessing a quantity of cocaine with intent to supply on October 3, 2014.

Hughes pleaded guilty to separate charges of possessing a quantity of methylenedioxy methamphetamine; possessing a quantity of methylenedioxymethcathinone; possessing a quantity of herbal cannabis; and possessing a quantity of cocaine on October 2, 2014.

Powell pleaded not guilty to charges of possessing a quantity of methylenedioxy methamphetamine; possessing a quantity of methylenedioxymethcathinone; and possessing a quantity of herbal cannabis on the same date.

The pair spoke only to confirm their names and enter pleas.

They were released on unconditional bail until their next scheduled court appearance in February next year.
