Pair sought by police after purse theft in Newhaven


Police are appealing for help identifying these two men in connection with the theft of a purse from an elderly woman in Newhaven.

Officers would like to speak to the pair in relation to the incident, which happened in Paradise Park, Avis Way between 12:30pm and 2pm on Saturday, October 3.

The black zipped purse with red and green floral motifs was stolen from the handbag of a 75-year-old woman. It contained £100 cash, bank cards and a driving licence and is believed to have been taken after the victim was distracted by a man bumping into her.

Anyone able to identify either of the men pictured or who may have other information about the incident is asked to email or phone 101, quoting serial 857 of 03/10.

Alternatively they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers without having to leave their name on 0800 555 111.
