Littlehampton came alive on Saturday as people lined the streets and took part in the town carnival.

And an enormous 3,000 profit was made with one of the best street collections ever 2,850, beating last year s collection by 350.

Delighted organisers had nothing but praise for the hard work that had gone in to designing and building the huge array of floats that entered.

The theme, music and fashion through the ages, was extremely well interpreted by all entrants, with the majority taking it literally and designing their floats on a time scale, rather than just one era.

And the largely fine and sunny day meant none of them were spoiled.
