Park rings with festive song

A record turnout saw Hotham Park in Bognor Regis ring with the sound of Christmas music.

Some 600 people made the latest, and fifth, Carols in the Park concert the biggest success yet.

A clear and still night on Saturday, December 6, prompted the large number along for a festive hour of Christmas cheer led by the Bognor Regis Concert Band and members of the Glenwood Choir.

Event organiser Diana Strachan, of the Hotham Park Heritage Trust, said: "It was quite a magical night. Families and friends, old and young, and some in fancy hats, lit up the darkness of the park with their torches, lanterns and smiles."

She thanked all those involved in the popular event, including St John Ambulance volunteers and the Town Force team.

Carols in the Park is an annual event supported by West Sussex County Council and Arun District Council.
