Party for Age Concern volunteers

A party was held at the Manor Barn for Hastings and Rother volunteers who support Age Concern East Sussex.

The event was to celebrate the achievements and commitment of this group of people who dedicate their time to helping older people in the country.

Spokesman Tracy Whittle commented: "ACES's services enable older vulnerable people to stay active and independent in their own homes and volunteers are involved in all aspects of support from toe nail cutting, home from hospital, day clubs, befriending and advocacy to information and advice .

"We also have a small army of volunteers who assist in the running of our charity shops, bringing much needed funds to support our work.

"ACES holds four of these events a year across the county for the three hundred volunteers involved in our work. They are an opportunity for volunteers to meet each other as well as members of staff and trustees.

These occasions are also used to issue long service awards to volunteers who have supported the organisation for many years.

"For more information about the services we provide, or to enquire about volunteering opportunities, please contact our Hastings office on 01424 426162."
