Party for Dads' group

IT WAS celebration time at Egerton Park Children's Centre on Saturday with a party held to commemorated the one year anniversary of their popular 'Dads Group'.

The group, which meets on the third Saturday of every month, provides an opportunity for dads/carers and their children to spend quality time together whilst enjoying a range of activities.

There was certainly plenty of fun activities at the party with a magician providing slick magic tricks, face-painting, arts and crafts, and refreshments.

As part of 'Men's Health Week', and the national 'Change for Life' campaign, expert advice on healthcare was provided by Margaret Delahoy, Rother & Hastings Public Health Coordinator for children & families.

With a variety of colourful leaflets, crayons and activity packs Margaret had important healthcare messages for dads and their children.

She said: "I've a broad spectrum of information for men on exercise, eating healthily and skin care in the sun, and we aim to get the message over to children about playing safe in the sun in a fun way."

Dad Keith Robertson, along with daughters, six year old Rosie and Evie aged four, has been attending the club for the past five months and said it's a great way to spend time with his girls.
