Their instructor, Sarah Sampson, of Sampson Fitness, threw a festive party at East Preston and Kingston Village Hall to thank them for their support during the past year, and to raise funds for Southlands Hospital, Shoreham.

Patients from the hospital are referred to Sarah for cardiac rehabilitation classes and some of these were joined by members of her Strictly Come Dance Fit class from East Preston, just a couple of the many groups she leads.

They chatted over tea and mince pies before Sarah presented her Sampson Fitness Greatest Achievers awards for those who are recovering from heart disease or cancer or who have been through personal struggles, such as losing a loved one.

The party fun also included doing The Twist, which Sarah filmed and will be adding to her website, while a raffle raised £83 for Southlands Hospital funds.

The ‘rehab’ patients were encouraged by Sarah to keep exercising at home over the holiday period, but her other classes are taking a short break before gearing up again to shed any excess pounds gained during the festivities.
