Paul Downes at Bognor Regis’ Folk on the Coast

Bognor’s Folk on the Coast is promising one of the world’s best acoustic guitarists when Paul Downes is the guest at its Bognor Regis Town FC venue on Friday, April 17.

Spokesman Roger Nash said: “Paul’s last appearance at the Club was some six years ago, but since then he has headlined at the very first Southdowns Folk Festival in September 2013, and Paul’s sensitive but fun approach to his live performances continues to put him amongst the most respected artists on the British acoustic music scene today.

“It’s easy to see why Paul is up there with the world’s best guitarists when you see the dazzling array of styles he performs with effortless brilliance, although Paul still considers himself a singer of songs rather than a guitar technician. Paul has a rich musical background that has progressed through working with Phil Beer, The Arizona Smoke Review, Pete Seeger, The Joyce Gang and most recently partnering the sadly-departed Maggie Boyle.”
