Pavilion Trustees named

THE nine members of the De La Warr Pavilion Charitable Trust who take over the Grade ll Listed building next April have been named.

They are:

*Dr Richard Sykes (chairman), a retired ICI executive who is a collector of contemporary art and an architectural enthusiast.

*Dr Graham Whitham (vice-chairman), a Hastings-based art historian and senior lecturer at Hastings College and the University of Sussex

*Cllr Pauline Bullock, a Rother member representing Collington Ward and chairman of Bexhill Costume Museum

*Cllr Martin Horscroft, a Rother member for St Stephen's ward who runs a local hairdressing business

*John Midgley, senior partner in a Bexhill legal practice, a Bexhill College governor and with a keen interest in visual and performing arts

*Derek Norcross, a Deputy Lieutenant of East Sussex, retired headmaster and a previous chairman of East Sussex County Council

*Sue Collings, an arts consultant and founder of Trinity Arts Centre, Tunbridge Wells

*Earl De La Warr, grandson of the 9th Earl and businessman

*Penny Johnson, director of the Government Art Collection and previously director of the Towner Art Gallery, Eastbourne

*John Millar, award-winning architect whose work includes the refurbishment of the new wing of the Tate Britain, Serpentine Gallery and Whitechapel Art Gallery.
