Paw-ly cat gets stuck in gate

A cat had to be rescued by firefighters after getting its paw stuck in an ornamental gate in Battle.

A crew from Battle Fire Station were called to Starr’s Green Lane at 9.40am this morning (September 29).

Firefighters used cutting equipment to free the hapless moggie, who was promptly whisked off to the vets.

Crew manager Justin Goodchild said: “He was very calm all the time and did not scratch us, which is always a bonus.”
