Paying tribute after airshow tragedy

All thoughts this week are with the victims of Saturday’s tragic crash at the Shoreham Airshow, and with their families and friends.

This week’s paper includes a 16-page section designed to record the tragic events of the past week but, more than that, to remember and pay tribute to everyone who has lost their life and everyone in our communities across Sussex who is suffering dreadfully as a consequence.

As well as the tributes, this week’s edition contains eye-witness accounts from those attending the show and reports of the personal side of what followed – the church service in Shoreham town centre on Sunday; the floral tributes; words of condolence from dignitaries including the Prime Minister; details of books of condolences that have been opened across the area and more.
