PC found dead in Sussex woodland
A SERVING police officer from Etchingham has been found dead in woodland.
PC Andy Cheney, of Fontridge Lane, was discovered just before 6.30am on Friday April 25 at the Pooh Bridge car park at Hartfield on the Ashdown Forest.
A post mortem took place on Monday (April 28) and revealed the 34-year-old, who was an officer for Kent Police, died as a result of hanging.
The death is not being treated as suspicious .
The coroners officer is continuing enquiries and an inquest is to be held in due course.
