PCC boosts young witness service

The county's young witness service has received a funding boost of £45,000 from Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner Katy Bourne.

The service helps young people between six and 17 years coming to court across Sussex either as victims of crime or witnesses to it.

The money was allocated from funds released through the proceeds of crime act (POCA).

“This sees criminal assets seized and liquidated and the money put back directly into the local community,” said Mrs Bourne.
